Police have arrested a taxi driver involved in a dangerous stunt that went viral on social media, showing a man, believed to be a content creator, riding on the roof of a moving vehicle.

The video has sparked widespread concern and mixed reactions online, with many calling on authorities to take swift action.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, the vehicle featured in the clip was traced and subsequently impounded.

The driver has been charged with carrying a passenger in a dangerous position, a serious offense under road safety regulations.

We managed to trace the vehicle carrying someone on top of its bed. It was impounded, and the driver was charged with carrying a passenger in a dangerous position. However, the passenger has not yet been traced, but efforts to locate him are ongoing, said ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan.

While the driver is now in custody, the passenger, reportedly a TikToker, is yet to be identified. Authorities have launched an investigation to track down the individual responsible for orchestrating the stunt.

This is very dangerous, lads. We understand that the TikToker paid the driver 20,000 shillings for that stunt. Owoyesigyire emphasized
