Rising singer, Pawaboy, has revealed that he dropped out of school to pursue his music career against his parents’ wishes.
Pawaboy, real name Kasule Abdulrashid, grew up in a strict Muslim family, and his parents wanted him to continue his education, as they hoped he would enter the corporate world in the future. However, Pawaboy chose to pursue music, something his parents didn’t agree with.
During a TV interview, the 24-year-old revealed that his parents defended their disappointment, claiming he was a young man wasting his time on music, yet he would be doing something they thought was better.
“They were disappointed because at first they had taken me to school, thinking I would be someone they wanted me to be. They wanted mt to continue with education, but I thought I was wasting my time and their money too, and in the end dropout and did what I wanted. So I decided to annoy them at once,” he said.
Pawaboy revealed he kept hoping that things would work out with music, and luckily, he got his big breakthrough when he released songs like Yandalula and Nalockinga, among others.
