A senior police officer has died in a fatal road accident after ramming into a stationary truck at Busiu Town Council in Mbale District.
D/lP Sakwa Samuel, the OC CID Industrial Division Police in Mbale City, met his death on the night of Saturday, 19th April, 2025, while riding his motorcycle back home at about 10:00 PM.
The accident involved Sakwa’s motorcycle registration number UAC 864 C Yamaha and the truck, Reg no UAW 510T/UAW 114W BENZ AXOR.
According to a police statement issued on Tuesday, 22nd April, 2025, D/lP Sakwa while riding from Mbale City heading to Busiu Town Council, rammed into the said trailer which was parked along the road facing Tororo without safety signages (triangles) hence the crash and instant death.
The scene was visited by AIP Walyamboka and team, scene cordoned and marked, meanwhile, the body of the deceased has taken to Mbale city mortuary for post mortem.
Both the trailer and the motorcycle are parked at the CPS Mbale Busoba yard pending inspection.
