His unchallenged re-election signals strong support from Uganda’s football fraternity for his continued leadership. Addressing the 88 delegates who endorsed him, Magogo expressed gratitude and outlined his vision for the future, centered on boosting internal revenue to ensure the sustainability and growth of football in Uganda.

He emphasized the need to commercialize the sport, professionalize structures, and build a robust football economy capable of supporting clubs, players, and infrastructure. A key part of his agenda is Uganda’s preparation to co-host the 2027 African Nations Championship (CHAN) and Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) alongside Kenya and Tanzania—events he described as an opportunity to elevate Uganda’s football image continentally.

Since assuming office, Magogo has implemented reforms including club licensing, youth football development, and infrastructure improvements like the Kadiba Stadium project. Despite these efforts, his leadership has faced criticism over funding issues, governance in domestic competitions, and underwhelming national team performances. He pledged to address these concerns by prioritizing transparency, grassroots development, and stronger collaboration with government and private partners.

The assembly also passed resolutions aimed at improving women’s football, strengthening refereeing, and modernizing FUFA’s operations. In addition to his role at FUFA, Magogo serves as Budiope East MP and sits on the CAF Executive Committee. His leadership through 2029 will be critical as Uganda gears up to showcase its football potential on the continental stage.
