Date:

Kampala Capital City Authority ( KCCA ) will be aiming to achieve a rare feat by securing a double victory over Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) for the first time since the 2018/19 season when they clash at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Wednesday.

The Kasasiro, who have recently faced setbacks with consecutive losses to Kitara and NEC, have encountered difficulties in securing points on URA’s turf in their last five encounters.

The last time KCCA managed to earn a point away against the tax collectors was in 2019 when they secured a 1-0 victory, courtesy of Timothy Awany’s second-half goal.

URA’s momentum and ambitionsURA enters the upcoming match in a strong form, boasting three consecutive wins and understanding the significance of a triumph over KCCA, which could propel them to a joint third position in the league standings, particularly if BUL faces challenges against Police at home.

A victory for KCCA would elevate them to 37 points, with only six matches remaining in the season, amplifying the importance of securing crucial points in this pivotal encounter.

The Kasasiro welcome back Mustafa Mujjuzi, Ettiene Katenga, and Bright Anukani, while facing the absence of Filbert Obenchan due to a hip injury sustained in the previous loss to BUL.

Potential setback for URA
URA may potentially be without Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who sustained an injury during the 4-0 victory over Soltilo Bright Stars, placing reliance on Bruno Bunyaga to spearhead the attacking front.

Over the past decade, there have been 25 league encounters between the two teams, with both sides securing 9 wins and 6 draws.

– KCCA has not achieved a double victory over URA since the 2018-19 season when they emerged victorious with a 7-2 home win and a 1-0 away victory.

– URA has dominated the recent home fixtures, clinching victory in the last five consecutive meetings.

– In other Wednesday matches, Express faces a challenging trip to Mbale Heroes, Villa visits Mbarara City, Maroons confront UPDF away, and BUL hosts Police at Njeru.
