Singer Jowy Landa, real name Joan Namugerwa, has reacted to Kapeke describing her as an old woman, revealing that she was proud of her age.
Kapeke appeared during a recent interview, cautioning the interviewers against putting him in the same age bracket as Jowy Landa. He claimed Jowy Landa started her career while he was 15 years old in S.1 when she released her first hit song dubbed ‘African Girl’ with Pallaso.
Jowy Landa, while responding to Kapeke’s claims, emphasized that she started doing music at 17 years old in 2019, watering down Kapeke’s claims. She bragged about looking younger and better than Kapeke, who she claimed had the appearance of a 45-year-old.
“I’m an old person, and I cannot deny that. I may be aged, but I still look good. He should pray that in the years to come, he will look as good as I do. Bro looks 45, and he needs to look in the mirror. I do not have a problem with someone calling me old because I started my career at a young age and I’m still here,” Jowy said.
She added that Kapeke was way older than her, but only got to the spotlight after his hit song recently. She alleged that he started doing music earlier than her, but was struggling to get his big breakthrough song.
“In fact, he is old. Getting a hit song at this age doesn’t mean you are young. He started way earlier, but things were just not working out for him. Just because you have a hit song now, do not disrespect those you found in the game. You are old, and we should respect fellow elders.

Jowy further made it clear that she was not offended by Kapeke’s comments, calling her old because she felt it was an honor. With this, she called herself a legend with people like him looking up to her and making her a topic.
“It doesn’t bother me because we are all growing. That is just respect, and I’m a legend. We have people like him looking up to us, which is why they keep talking about us. It is an honor to be this old and still look hot,” she said.
