Appeal rejected: Troy Wamala to serve 12 years for Mowzey Radio’s manslaughter

Date:

The Court of Appeal has maintained Godfrey Troy Wamala’s sentence, confirming his role in the tragic death of singer Mowzey Radio.

A panel of three justices reviewed the case thoroughly and ruled that the evidence presented in court strongly supported the earlier judgment. Wamala appealed, claiming his trial was unfair due to inconsistent testimonies, and also argued that his sentence was unnecessarily harsh.

Despite his plea, the appellate court determined that the trial proceedings were fair and the conviction was entirely justified.

Two key witnesses, Pamela Musimire and Producer Washington, provided compelling testimonies linking Wamala to the fatal nightclub altercation.

Initially, Wamala had been sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment, which was later reduced due to the time spent on remand.

The judges emphasized that the testimonies were credible, consistent, and powerful enough to dismiss Wamala’s appeal in its entirety.

This case has continued drawing attention, especially among Mowzey Radio’s fans, who have been following every development closely since his passing.
