Christopher Okello Onyum Sentenced to Death for Murder of Four Children in Ggaba Daycare Attack

The prime suspect in the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Programme (daycare) murder, Christopher Okello Onyum, has been found guilty of killing four kids.

On  April 2, 2026, Okello Onyum sparked a somber atmosphere countrywide after he stormed the Gaba Early Childhood Development Programme, where he killed four kids by stabbing.

Okello was immediately saved from mob justice and detained at the Police station before being arraigned before the court to face the consequences of his actions.

Following President Museveni’s directive, the public trial at the Ggaba Community Church grounds was held to allow the local community to witness the proceedings.

In due course, several sessions have been held, under which key evidence has been presented, including traffic surveillance footage, among others.

Today, 30 April 2026, a High Court judgment session was held, presided over by Justice Alice Komuhangi Khaukha. During the session, Christopher Okello Onyum was found guilty, and given a death sentence.
