The media fraternity has today 21 August 2024, woke up to the sudden pass on of veteran death announcement reader Ssalongo John Ssekandi.
Ssalongo John formerly an employee at 88.8 CBS FM, rose to prominence due to his exceptional death announcement reading at the Mengo-based station.
His segment usually aired shortly after the news bulletin, and he read the death announcements in the morning, lunch, evening, and night. However, Ssalongo John later resigned from his duties and enjoyed retirement with his family and relatives.
Unfortunately, he was attacked by health conditions that come with old age and has been grappling with the challenges for a couple of years now.
This morning, Ssalongo lost the battle and has been pronounced dead by his family. By press time, the family had not shared the funeral arrangements, but we shall keep you posted as more information becomes available.
