Press Statement Aster DM Healthcare Dubai Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Uganda Ministry of Health to Donate Mobile Medical Clinic

Date:

The Consulate General of the Republic of Uganda in Dubai is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Aster DM Healthcare and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uganda. This MoU formalizes the donation of a fully equipped mobile medical clinic by Aster DM Healthcare, aimed at improving access to healthcare services in underserved communities across Uganda.

Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in the GCC, has a strong legacy of delivering quality, affordable, and accessible care. With a presence across hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and digital health platforms such as myAster, the group continues to expand its impact through humanitarian and cross-border partnerships.

The mobile medical unit, currently being custom-built in India, will be fully equipped with diagnostic and treatment capabilities. Shipment to Uganda is expected within the next three months. Once operational, the clinic will play a vital role in delivering primary healthcare services to remote and rural areas across the country.

The official MoU signing ceremony is scheduled to take place in Kampala, and will be attended by senior officials from Uganda’s Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from Aster DM Healthcare, and other key stakeholders.

This initiative marks the beginning of a broader collaboration between Uganda and Aster DM Healthcare, with future plans to deploy medical professionals from the UAE to work alongside Ugandan healthcare workers. This will include specialist outreach programs, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building efforts aimed at strengthening Uganda’s healthcare delivery systems.
