Kabale-Preparations are in high gear for the 9th East African Revival Convention, which will commemorate 90 years of revival in the Kigezi region.
The convention will run from Wednesday, 20th August 2025 to Sunday, 24th August 2025, at the Kabale Convention Site, located on Rugarama Hill in the Northern Division of Kabale Municipality.
This year’s theme is “Let Us Fix Our Eyes on Jesus,” derived from Hebrews 12:2.
The convention is organized by all the greater Kigezi dioceses, namely:Muhabura Diocese (Kisoro District),Kinkiizi Diocese (Kanungu District),North Kigezi Diocese (Rukungiri District), and The host, Kigezi Diocese, which covers the districts of Kabale, Rukiga, and Rubanda.
According to the Chairperson of the Central Organizing Committee, Ven. Oscar Mwesigwa, who also serves as the Archdeacon of Bubaare Archdeaconry, the convention is expected to attract over 20,000 people from various dioceses and delegations from neighboring countries including a delegation from the USA, which has already arrived in Uganda.
He noted that the archdeaconries began preparations for the convention a long time ago and expressed hope that the event will be a great success.
Ven. Mwesigwa revealed that attendees will receive well-packaged sermons from various preachers and expressed confidence that the messages delivered will spiritually and morally transform their lives.

Ven. Mwesigwa also assured attendees of their security, noting that the organizing committee has coordinated with the office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), who is the head of security, to ensure law and order throughout the convention.
He also urged the congregation to remain vigilant and security-conscious about their personal belongings, emphasizing that security begins with the individual.
