Politics Is Eating Up The Music Industry – Gloria Bugie

Date:

Upcoming musician Gloria Bugie has raised concerns about the deteriorating state of the Ugandan music industry, attributing its decline to political influences and other detrimental factors.

In a recent interview with a local television station, Bugie emphasized the urgent need for artists to take action to revitalize the industry.

“Our industry is declining; politics and other things are dragging us down,” she stated. Bugie called on her fellow musicians to “wake up,” produce quality music, and collaborate for the betterment of the industry. She believes that without a collective effort, the situation will continue to worsen.

Bugie’s comments reflect a broader sentiment among artists who feel that political affiliations and rivalries have overshadowed artistic expression in Uganda.

As the music scene grapples with these challenges, Bugie’s call for unity and improvement highlights the critical role that artists play in shaping the future of their industry.
