The police in Hima Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the drowning of Bwambale Paul, an 18-year-old herdsman from Ruhita Village, Hima Parish, Kitswamba Sub-county in Kasese District.
it’s alleged that the incident occurred at approximately 5 pm yesterday when one of the goats being grazed by the deceased escaped and went to the community valley dam to drink water. Unfortunately, the goat drowned, and in the process of trying to rescue it, Bwambale Paul also lost his life.
According to the Local leaders, the Hima Police Commander, SP Suzan Nemira Bwire, and her team responded swiftly to the scene, but the operation to retrieve the body was unsuccessful on the first day because of the darkness.
However, on the second day, with the help of locals, the police managed to recover the body at around 1:30 pm.
Speaking to the media, the relatives explained that one of the goats escaped and drowned in the valley dam, leading to the tragic loss of Bwambale Paul’s life.
The Hima Division Police transported the body to Kasese Municipal Health Center IV for a postmortem examination.
