Nina Roz Backs Musicians in Politics, Says Artists Should Not Be Undermined

Date:

Musician and politician Nina Roz has spoken out about biased netizens who have put down artists, claiming they do not have the potential to hold political office.

Nina Roz, speaking to BBS TV viewers, explained that, as an artist, she decided to run for a parliamentary position to represent her home area out of a desire to change it. Many other musicians like her also joined the race in the recently concluded elections, sparking a huge debate.

A section of critics judged and accused them of ruining the industry by dragging politics into it. On many occasions, artists who chose to go political were put on a pedestal because they believed they were incapable of serving the people.

Nina Roz, however, emphasized that she believed in herself and took the bold step of appearing on the ballot paper because she was capable.

She revealed that the judgment was due to fans being biased and not valuing them enough. He hailed Bobi Wine for paving the way for artists, making them believe that they could also serve their country by taking up political offices.

Musicians are a big voice; if they can make people happy and get them dancing, how about we translate that same energy into governance? What do you think will happen and the impact we will bring to our country? I think artists are capable and shouldn’t be belittled.

We shouldn’t lose our worth because we can. We can do it because we have seen others who have gone before us succeed to the international level,” she said.
