MC Kapale Reveals Why He Left the US After Failed Marriage and Asylum Challenges, Says Life Was “Hell”

Date:

Renowned veteran comedian MC Kapale, real name Simon Kawuki Zikusoka, has explained why he ditched his life in the US, describing it as ‘hell’.

Kapale married his old mzungu lover in 2024, aiming to obtain American citizenship; however, his plans were dealt a heavy blow when they broke up a few months later. Not wanting to come back then, he wanted to be put in an asylum to seek citizenship in a foreign country.

Amidst the challenges, especially with his health, he visited a shelter where asylum seekers go for help, but they told him he couldn’t get any medical assistance because he hadn’t officially applied for asylum yet. He, however, couldn’t get through as they suggested he would apply based on either his political beliefs or sexual orientation to prove that he was being persecuted back at home.

“I told myself that I wouldn’t go for political reasons because I had had enough in my country. I had lost all my property and got people accusing me of betrayal, so I was tired and decided I would not even give it as a reason when I got to America,” Kapale said.

Kapale noted that he chose to take the LGBT direction and did numerous TikTok live videos pretending to be a gay man and said so many things trying to convince the viewers. They, however, didn’t buy it and continued insulting him.

“They abused me so much, not knowing what I was planning on doing. It was a sad situation. I pretended to be one and even put on their colors, and I kept on doing live videos to show them, but I was targeting other things,” he said.

Despite the many challenges, Kapele revealed that he chose to return to his country, where he felt at peace. He described America as hell and advised people not to go there.

“This is my country, and I cannot go back to the other hell. The US has been hell for me, but you cannot tell a broke person that still has a poor mindset. It is like being broke, you never have a choice, and when they tell you that America is hell, they will never believe it, thinking you do not wish them well,” he explained.
