Preparations are in high gear for the upcoming Gen MK 52nd Birthday Run, scheduled to take place on April 26, 2026, under the theme “Run for Charity, Run for Hope”.
The event will be held at Kololo Independence Grounds, with activities set to begin at 6:00 AM and run until 12:00 PM. The run will be led by Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who will serve as the Chief Runner.
Organisers say the annual run is aimed at promoting fitness, unity, and charitable giving, with proceeds expected to support various community initiatives. The event is anticipated to attract thousands of participants, including youth groups, corporate teams, security personnel, and members of the general public.
The previous edition of the marathon attracted massive crowds and received widespread praise for its organisation and impact. Participants from across the country turned up in large numbers, contributing to charitable causes while also celebrating a spirit of togetherness. The success of last year’s run has raised expectations for an even bigger and more impactful event this year.

In addition to the run, this year’s edition is expected to feature entertainment, community engagement activities, and opportunities for participants to interact and network. Security and medical teams will also be on standby to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees.
Organisers have encouraged the public to register early and participate in what is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated public events on the calendar.
The Gen MK Birthday Run continues to grow into a significant annual event, blending celebration, fitness, and philanthropy while rallying Ugandans around a common cause.
