Today marked a major milestone for Uganda’s media industry with the official launch of the Entertainment and Media Hosts Association (EMHA) at Kyambogo.
The event was well attended by presenters from mainstream radio and television stations, reflecting strong industry support and shared commitment to professional unity.
The formation of the Association was inspired by the realization that while many creative and professional sectors: such as musicians, comedians, and drama actors: have long benefited from organized associations, mainstream radio and television presenters lacked a unified body. This gap prompted the establishment of EMHA to provide structure, representation, and collective voice for media hosts.
The Association aims to formally organize and recognize presenters, advocate for their interests, and enable members to access government support and funding opportunities available to organized creative groups.
EMHA also acknowledges the vital role media presenters play in national development through information dissemination, entertainment, cultural promotion, and public engagement.
Speaking at the launch, the Chairman of EMHA, Miles Rwamiti emphasized that EMHA is built on the principles of professionalism, inclusion, and voluntary membership, welcoming all presenters who believe in the vision of collective growth and empowerment within the media industry.
