Date:

The Bulambuli National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has passed a resolution to conduct joint campaigns during the party’s campaign period.

The decision was made on Friday, 25th April, 2025 during the launch of the party’s election roadmap at Rest Ville Hotel located at Bulambuli Town Council in Bulambuli district.

According to Paulo Kimamati, the Bulambuli District NRM Chairperson, candidates for the same position at all levels will campaign together, moderated by a neutral person at all political rallies.

He says each candidate will present their manifesto and answer questions from the audience, allowing voters to make informed decisions.

Kimamati stated that this approach will enable voters to choose candidates with good manifestos and the ability to articulate their vision.

Denis Namisi, the acting Bulambuli NRM Registrar, added that all candidates will sign a consent form agreeing to support the winner in case of a loss in the primaries.

He says they want to avoid the NRM Independent leaning candidates at general election which has been costing the party in previous elections.

Namisi adds that any candidate who  will sign a consent form and defies it later after election results, will be followed and won’t be allowed by the Electoral Commission to be nominated for general elections.

Gerald Nangoli, the Member of Parliament for Elgon North Constituency, urged NRM members to avoid infighting, which could give the opposition an opportunity to penetrate Bulambuli.

Irene Muloni, the Bulambuli District Woman Member of Parliament, expressed concern about party leaders seeking to contest for positions that could divide the party.

She describes such leaders as self-seekers and people aiming at dividing the party.

Isaac Katenya, Member of Parliament representing Bulambuli County urged the party leaders at sub county levels who came for the meeting to spread the information of the joint campaigns to the grass route levels.

The NRM leaders endorsed sole candidates for President Museveni, Paulo Kimamati as District NRM Chairperson, and all area Members of Parliament.

Annette Nandudu, the LCV chairperson of Bulambuli also eying the position of Woman MP who boycotted the meeting over unknown reasons failed to pick our repeated calls when contacted.

In the 2026 general election, all four parliamentary positions and LCV Chairperson NRM candidates IN Bulambuli won with landslide victories including president Museveni who got 95%.
