Date:

If there is something to admire about Ugandan celebrated artiste Bebe Cool, this season, it has to be the remarkable steps he has recently taken in his music career.

This includes the intricate release of the first two singles off his Break The Chains Album– Circumference and Motivation. He has made many more strategic moves, such as launching The Motivation Week, and the memorable press conference at the end of last year.

Yesterday- Friday, April 25th, during a TiK Tok Live interaction with some of the leading Tik Tokers in the land, Bebe Cool revealed that his anticipated album, Break The Chains, will be officially dropping on Friday, May 30th, 2025. The highly anticipated album marks a defining moment in the artist’s evolving sound, blending signature style with fresh Afrobeats influences and raw storytelling.

The album has been the talk of town since Bebe Cool first announced it, almost two years ago. He however, did turn up the heat when he released Circumference, shocking most of his fans, who realized it was a different sound.

During different interviews, Bebe Cool has revealed that the change of direction is meant to align with current market trends, which are leaning more towards Afrobeats, than any other sound being produced from Africa. Bebe Cool promised to unpack more about the album in the coming days.

A new dawn, as he calls it, Bebe Cool has broken the mold with the album, working with a different crop of producers, engineers and tapping into Uganda’s own Afrobeats growing sound, with artists such as Joshua Baraka. During the TikTok Live, Bebe Cool talked about the changing trends of music and how Uganda has always missed out simply because most of the artists that could, are either too comfortable, or afraid to sail through the unknown.

With the new album, he says that he’s going to the unknown, with the intention of using his position as an industry leader to motivate and inspire young artists to embark on such journeys.

“Break the Chains is about cracking the glass ceiling to take Ugandan music to the table most local artists believe we are not welcome,” he said.
Break the Chains, follows the success of Go Mama, which earned Bebe Cool continental nominations, such as the MTV Africa Music Awards, Channel O Awards and the Kora Awards. One of the singles- Love You Everyday, is still Uganda’s most exported songs on Spotify, with more than 5.5 million streams, and 14 million views on YouTube.

With this new release, the artist continues to push boundaries, while staying true to the emotional core that fans have come to love.
The album will be available on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YT Music and more.
