Azawi Praises Eddy Kenzo for Staying Strong Amid Criticism and Driving Copyright Progress

Date:

Swangz Avenue musician Azawi has applauded Eddy Kenzo for being brave enough to handle criticism and still support fellow artists.

Azawi praised Eddy Kenzo during her YouTube interview, calling him one of her close friends in the industry despite their differing political ideologies.

Azawi acknowledged that they have had a fair share of disagreements, blaming social media users for drawing it out of proportion. She explained that they understand each other better when they disagree on some matters, which doesn’t mean that they hate each other.

She gave Eddy Kenzo his flowers, crediting him for being one of the few artists who have been impactful on her journey in music.

“Eddy and I have things we agree on and those we don’t; it is okay. If we meet, we respect that and cannot be on the same page, but it can’t take away the fact that he played a part in my journey as an artist. He contributed something to me, and even when he does the worst thing of all, I cannot take that away from him. He is not perfect, but I appreciate him in a certain way. Even when we disagree on something, I will always tell him,” she said.

Azawi had initially suggested holding a debate to address their political misconceptions, explaining that it didn’t happen because of a change in plans.

Furthermore, Azawi heaped praise on the UNMF President for being brave enough to face all the negative energy directed towards him during his leadership tenure.

“I have criticized him before but I applaud him that amidst all the kind of disagreements and arguments, he has still stood the test of time to the level that we are achieving the copyright. He was brave and did what other artists were afraid to do. It wasn’t easy,” she said.
