Yesse Oman Rafiki Shares How Industry Pressure Pushes Artists Into Witchcraft

Date:

Singer and songwriter Yesse Oman Rafiki has spoken about the pressure in the music industry that has driven artists to witchcraft.

Yesse, during his appearance on ‘Faith Unfiltered,’ was tasked to address the trending allegations that musicians use witchcraft to gain fame and stay relevant in the competitive industry.

Giving himself as an example, Yesse told Galaxy TV viewers that, at one point, while he was trying to make his career work, he was under immense pressure and suddenly started receiving calls from various people urging him to join cults to gain control.

He, however, never gave in as he found favor and Grace in God’s eyes through the constant prayers.

There is a time I got to, and the pressure from the industry was too much. In this period, they kept calling me to join them and telling me what I had to do, but I found peace under God’s grace and strengthened myself.

Yesse Oman Rafiki admitted to rumours that musicians go underwater to search for extraordinary powers rather than channel their energy through prayer.

It is true that people go underwater and look for extraordinary powers. They seek fame and power to achieve different things. But they don’t know that there is power in prayer. There is power in calling the name of Jesus and asking him to guide you. As a believer, you have to keep praying.

To overcome the temptations, Yesse says they have tried to remain spiritually alert by forming prayer groups with fellow artists. He says they formed a group of 40-50 people who occasionally meet to fellowship and pray.

We do this because even those who use witchcraft are not resting. We have to stay spiritually strong, and that is essential in music. Personally, I pray, fast, and read a lot, but it has been an arduous journey for me as well. But I try to keep spiritually strong, especially when I read the Bible.
