‘We shall defeat them’: PFF aspirants fired up for the 2026 elections

Zainah Nambi Wakeba, a social worker, has vowed to defeat the incumbent, Manjeri Kyebakutika of the NRM in the Jinja City Woman MP race.

Speaking to Bbeg Media, Wakeba who belongs to the Peoples Front for Freedom (PFF) emphasized her commitment to delivering effective representation and addressing critical issues in Jinja City.

“I have returned my nomination forms to represent the people of Jinja city as woman MP. Therefore I want to assure my supporters that I will deliver and offer alternative representation when they vote for me as their MP,” she said.

She said whe will prioritise issues such as improving poor road networks, tackling youth and women unemployment, reducing poverty and revitalizing Jinja’s industrial base through government development programs.

She criticized current leaders for prioritizing personal interests over constituents’ needs, urging voters to choose her for better representation.

Geofrey Kabugo, a PFF candidate for Jinja North, also announced his intention to defeat NRM’s David Isabirye. Kabugo accused the NRM of corruption and mismanagement of public funds, positioning himself as an alternative for accountable leadership.

Samuel Makokha Mugeni, PFF’s secretary for international relations and Busia Municipality MP aspirant, said if elected, he plans to expand the party’s global presence by establishing chapters in cities like London, Berlin, Paris, Dubai, and Beijing.

Wanyera Steven, a PFF aspirant for Makerere University Lord Councillor, pledged to address insecurity, inadequate government funding, militarization of the university, and poor working conditions for academic staff. Similarly,

Joseph Naluswa, aspiring for Lubaga North Lord Councillor, criticized the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) for poor waste management leading to pollution and health issues. He promised to improve slums, secure funding for youth and women’s development, and reduce youth crime through empowerment initiatives.
