Date:

Vipers co-head coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda announces that team captain Milton Karisa will be sidelined for two months due to a muscle injury, forcing him to miss the upcoming Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) finals.

Karisa sustained a muscle issue during a recent match, leading to his premature exit from the game against Maroons FC.

Despite being named in the provisional squad, the team will keenly feel his absence. With the potential departure of Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka to APR, Uganda faces the prospect of missing out on three key players, impacting the team dynamics and strategy for the upcoming tournament.

To address the gaps in the team, KCCA’s Usama Arafat Kizza has been added to the squad for the championship. The squad is set to commence training on January 10 at Prisons Grounds, Luzira, in preparation for the tournament ahead.
