Viola Nakitende Embarks on Umrah Pilgrimage Months After Converting to Islam

Date:

Congratulations are in order for musician Viola Nakitende, who recently embarked on a spiritual journey to perform Umrah shortly after converting to Islam.

Viola Nakitende was among those who traveled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, for Umrah, an important Muslim pilgrimage that allows them to seek spiritual fulfillment and participate in key religious practices.

In various clips shared in the media, the happy Nakitende was welcomed back by her close friends and fans at the airport after landing. Speaking in a TV interview, the singer described the experience as transformative. She revealed that during the journey, she learnt to fast in the Muslim faith, pray, and seek guidance in this new chapter of her life.

The trip was fully funded by her manager, Kitonsa, who said it was a gift for accepting the Muslim faith. This sparked allegations with social media users claiming that the two were in a secret relationship. Kitonsa, however, denied the allegations, saying that if they were true, they would have announced their relationship.

“Going for Umrah is like a calling. Many people have money, but they have never tried it. But we are happy for Allah’s mercy for this. About Umrah, I was going in January, and Viola converted to Islam at this time, and the gift I gave her was this. That is not true; we are not in a relationship.

We are trusting Allah, and if it is true, we won’t even come to announce ourselves; it will just happen. I cannot speak on it if Allah has not willed it,” he said.

Last year, Nakitende, who was born a Christian, announced that she had embraced the Islamic faith and added the name ‘Nahya’ to mark her conversion.
