Victoria Sibiya opens up on why she could never marry a Ugandan man

Date:

Ugandan-based South African Pastor and media personality, Victoria Sibiya, has opened up on why she didn’t consider getting married to Ugandan men.

Victoria Sibiya, a news anchor at Next Media, was a guest speaker at the TUBTS podcast. While describing her experience with Ugandan men, she concluded that they are slow and do not know what they want when it comes to relationships.

In April this year, Victoria appeared on her social media handles flaunting her expensive diamond ring, indicating that she was engaged and ready to be married. Even when she withheld her identity, netizens assumed she was in a relationship with a Ugandan man, a claim she addresses in her latest interview.

Being engaged to a Ugandan was never going to happen. I say this all the time, and I got a lot of flak for saying it. I think Ugandan men are slow. They are either married with kids or they are just slow to catch on. That ship sailed a long time ago for me, she said.

Victoria further explained that she preferred her countrymen because they are communicative and precise to the point, unlike the Ugandan men, who she says are not straightforward and will keep going around in circles instead when it comes to relationships.

I still love Uganda, I’m still here. It is not really a roast. When you are kind of used to a pursuit, I find South African men are very ‘X marks the spot’. They are going to let you know quickly that they are the one they want, and they are very communicative. Whereas Ugandan men are very different. They communicate through other means. Like they will build you a house but won’t tell you it’s yours, I’m building, they will buy you land but I’m not going to tell you it’s your land, I will buy a car and won’t tell you it’s yours. Like I’m with you but I’m not, she said.

Throughout her career, Victoria Sibiya has maintained a low profile, keeping her romantic life a top secret for reasons only known to her.
