Viboyo credits Ragga Dee for revolutionizing earnings in the music industry, as he introduced a performance fee of Ugx 1 M.
He revealed that despite musicians like Jose Chameleone having mega hits like Mama Mia at the time, they used to perform for as low as Ugx 300K.
Following Ragga Dee’s advice to Chameleone to increase his booking fees to Ugx 1M, the Leone Island boss introduced the “No Million, No Chameleone” slogan.
Despite initially resisting the new rate card, which many deemed exorbitant, several other musicians jumped on the trend, thereby changing their financial ratings.
Viboyo notes that years back, musicians were underpaid, mentioning that despite Red Banton having one of the classical music albums, his Noonya Money album was sold for just Ugx 3 M.
