UNEB Releases 2025 PLE Results; Boys Record Better Performance Than Girls

Today, 30 January 2025, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) released the much-anticipated results for the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) for 2025.

On 3 and 4 November 2025, pupils nationwide sat their final PLE examinations under the theme “Embracing Security and Holistic Assessment of Learners in a Dynamic Environment.”

The 2025 PLE results release ceremony was held today at State House, Nakasero, and was graced by the First Lady/Minister of Education and Sports, Janet K Museveni, among other dignitaries.

According to UNEB ED Dan Odongo, a total of 817,883 candidates from 15,388 examination centers registered for PLE in 2025, compared to 797,444 in 2024.

Of this number, 522,036 candidates (63.8%) from 11,525 centers were Universal Primary Education (UPE) beneficiaries, while 295,847 candidates (36.2%) from 3,863 centers were non-UPE beneficiaries.

He further stressed that in terms of percentages, males performed better than females and recorded a lower failure rate, and English was the best performed subject of the four.

Parents, candidates, and other interested parties can access results through the Short Messaging Service (SMS) available on Telecom mobile networks. Once the correct procedure is followed, candidates’ results will be sent instantly to their mobile phones.
