Ugandan Ambassador, UAE Chamber Discuss Trade Partnerships

Uganda and the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce discuss boosting trade and SME partnerships. A business forum in Kampala will explore investment opportunities between Uganda and the UAE.

RAS AL KHAIMAH, United Arab Emirates — The Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, met with Uganda’s Ambassador to the UAE, Zaake Wanume Kibedi, to discuss strengthening economic ties.

The two officials focused on promoting trade and investment cooperation between the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber and the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They also reviewed investment opportunities in both Ras Al Khaimah and Uganda.

Al Nuaimi said the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce is eager to support the private sector in exploring “useful and profitable investment opportunities” in friendly countries. He noted that Uganda is a key partner for the emirate’s business community through existing partnerships and agreements.

He also emphasized the importance of increasing partnerships within the small and medium enterprises (SME) sector to enhance investment opportunities.

Ambassador Kibedi expressed his country’s interest in expanding trade with the UAE. He also extended an invitation for the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber and its members to attend the UAE-Uganda Business Forum, scheduled for Oct. 27-29 in Kampala.

The meeting was held at the Chamber’s headquarters and was also attended by Youssef Mohamed Ismail, First Vice Chairman of the Chamber, and Dr. Ahmed Al Shemeili, Director-General.
