Uganda Police detonate Russian grenade found at Alien Skin’s residence

Uganda Police on 1st July responded to a call about a suspected explosive device found at the home of musician Alien Skin, real name Patrick Mulwana.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, the report was received at around 3:30 PM.

Upon arrival, Alien Skin handed them the device, which construction workers had discovered at his site located in Nakinyogozi, Makindye Division. They advised him to place it down for safety, Onyango noted.

The area was immediately cordoned off for the bomb squad to carry out a controlled detonation on the device, which was identified by police as a Russian hand-thrown grenade.

SSP Onyango cautioned the masses to avoid touching unknown objects and instead report them to the authorities.

Police urge the public to exercise caution when encountering suspicious items, not to touch or move them, and to report the matter to the authorities immediately, he said.
