Ugandans traveling to the United States will now face stricter entry rules after the U.S. government reduced the validity of non-immigrant visas to just three months. This significant reduction has sparked concern among Ugandan travelers, particularly those who make frequent trips for business or medical purposes, due to increased renewal costs and logistical challenges.
The embassy has urged applicants to review their visa documentation carefully, as the new visas will clearly indicate the permitted duration of stay.
The policy adjustment is part of broader changes in U.S. global visa strategies. It has also raised questions about reciprocal treatment and whether Uganda might introduce similar restrictions for American visitors.
