A team of social media influencers from Turkiye arrived in Uganda on July 6, 2025 for a 10 day familiarization tour. The team was welcomed at Entebbe International Airport by Counsellor Nelson Kasigaire who led them to Speke Resort Munyonyo, where the press was addressed.

Speaking to the press in Kampala, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Tourism Affairs, Ms. Lilly Ajarova, noted that the arrival of the social media influencers from Turkiye signifies the special collaboration between Uganda’s embassy in Turkiye and that of the Turkish Embassy in Uganda.

“This is just the start of our collaboration, “said Ms. Lilly Ajarova.

Our tourism is eco-tourism and above all, is responsible tourism because we don’t just want to make money for now but we aim to make our tourism sustainable,” she said.

She noted that this is a changing landscape of global travel and immense role of digital storytellers in shaping perceptions, inspiring wonders and building bridges between people and nations.

“What they’re going to say is going to be the perception of what Uganda says,” she added.

Uganda’s ambassador to Turkiye, Nusura Tiperu implored many people to come and invest in hotels, and cottages among other things. She implored the investors to take advantage of the beautiful sites in Uganda.

Meanwhile, the team of influencers is set to tour Murchison Falls National Game Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Game Park.
