Musician Tracy Melon has heaped praises on legendary songstress Iryn Namubiru, who she says has the best vocals in the local industry.
During her exclusive interview with Mr. Henrie, Tracy Melon gave Iryn Namubiru her flowers for being her best vocalist ever. She confessed that she is the prominent female musician she draws inspiration from because of her sweet voice.
“I will always say Iryn Namubiru. She is the kind of artist that I look up to. No one sings better than her in Uganda,” she revealed.
Tracy Melon acknowledged that Uganda has had several great artists with good music, maintaining that they were still not on the same level as Iryn Namubiru.
“They are not in the same caliber. She is a vocalist. I’m not saying others aren’t good; Cindy sings well, and I have listened to Lilian Mbabazi, and I know almost all these guys who sing very beautifully. But Iryn Namubiru sings better,” she said.
Musically, Iryn has often been compared to Juliana, and they have consistently been referred to as the best vocalists running the show. But Tracy Melon, in her own opinion, still roots for her idol.

“They are different vocally. Juliana sings well; I grew up listening to both of them, although along the way, I started listening to some bit of Irene Ntale,” she told Mr. Henrie.
