Top Eastern Region Police Commanders Moved in Latest Transfers

MBALE CITY

 

Uganda police on Saturday, 21st June, 2025 carried out transfers of some top police commanders in the Eastern Region.

 

The Regional Police Commander (RPC) for Bukedi South, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fred Ahimbisibwe Mchanga, has been transferred to the Aswa West policing region.

 

He will now be stationed in Gulu City, following the latest police reshuffle announced on Saturday.

 

In other changes, SSP John Bosco Otim, previously the RPC for Elgon Region, has been posted to Bukedi North, replacing ACP Mwanga Kitiyo Moses, who has been recalled to the Police Headquarters.

 

Samuel Asimwe, formerly of Aswa West in Gulu City, has been appointed the new RPC for Elgon Region.

 

Meanwhile, SP Conrad Byamugabe, the Division Police Commander (DPC) for Mbale Northern City Division, has been transferred to Kapelebyong District in the Teso sub-region. He will be succeeded by SP Sulait Kitaka, who formerly served in Kiruhura District.

 

Fred Ahimbisibwe will be remembered for his exemplary service, professionalism, and dedication during his time in Bukedi South.
