KAMPALA, Uganda — Harshad Barot, the chairman of Tirupati Group Ltd., praised President Yoweri Museveni’s economic vision Tuesday during the leader’s seventh swearing-in ceremony at Kololo Ceremonial Ground.

Barot, who attended the event with his wife, Poonam Barot, said the president’s focus on peace and political stability since 1986 has served as the essential foundation for the growth of Uganda’s private sector. The ceremony, attended by more than 40 heads of state and international dignitaries, marked a significant milestone in the country’s political history.

President Museveni’s leadership has created stability, and stability is the foundation upon which businesses grow, investments flourish, and families prosper, Barot said on the sidelines of the event.

The chairman noted that consistent governance and pro-business policies have been instrumental in attracting and sustaining both local and international investments. He described the inauguration as a moment of confidence for the entire investment community.

A strong economy is built on peace, infrastructure, and confidence in the future, Barot said. President Museveni’s leadership has enabled entrepreneurs and investors to dream bigger and achieve more. Witnessing President Museveni’s 7th swearing-in is a testament to a leader who has remained steadfast in his commitment to Uganda’s progress. This is not just a moment for celebration, it is a moment of confidence for every investor in this country.

Tirupati Group Ltd. has grown into one of the nation’s leading property development and construction firms under Barot’s leadership. The company’s portfolio includes industrial parks, residential estates, warehouses, and commercial shopping malls. Barot attributed this expansion to an environment where local investors feel empowered by the government.

President Museveni has created an environment where local investors are not just welcomed, they are empowered, Barot said. That is the mark of a visionary leader.

The chairman also emphasized the importance of the relationship between the government and the business community, noting that the president views the private sector as a strategic partner in national development.

The private sector in Uganda has flourished because we have a president who understands that a strong economy is built on the shoulders of strong businesses, Barot said. President Museveni has always seen the private sector as a partner, not just a participant. That partnership has made all the difference for businesses like ours. When leadership is consistent and purposeful, investment follows naturally. Uganda is living proof of that truth.
