TikToker Luwilight, real name Nansubuga Aisha, has been released after several weeks in Luzira Prison.
Luwilight has been in and out of court for charges related to misinformation and hate speech, as reported by singer Bebe Cool.
After weeks in Luzira prison, the TikToker decided to part ways with her lawyers from Dahan Advocates and hire Mugambwa, Muneeza, and Company Advocates.
Hours after taking over their new roles as the legal team, they pushed for her release, and the digital creator was set free this evening.
The lawyers, speaking to journalists outside the courts, revealed that the case had been settled and that they wouldn’t be back.
According to a representative, the constitution encourages the court to promote reconciliation because power rests with the people. He explained that the case was settled on grounds of reconciliation, and they do not expect it to go any further.

“It all comes from the agreement between the parties, and the court is just there to confirm that no one has been forced to sign the agreement. It is the court’s role to prove that the agreement was not made forcefully. In law, there is always a winner and a loser, and in this case, it was reconciliation. It is a public document, but I cannot share it. However, you can go to court and see about it,” he said.
