Veteran musician Halima Namakula has responded to social media users who had negative comments towards her stage appearance.
Halima Namakula celebrated her 50-year anniversary concert at Serena Hotel, dressed by three prominent Ugandan designers who collaborated on the outfits she wore on stage.
A section of netizens were so quick to criticise her for her fashion sense, saying she dressed more like a teenager than a mother. In an interview, Halima Namakula rubbished the claims, emphasizing that it was only her children who had the right to comment on her fashion choices.
She further revealed that they had handpicked the designs for her, and she had no problem wearing them.
As long as my children love the way I’m dressed, I do not care about the opinion of others. They are the first to tell me what I do not look good in. But once I step out and they give me a go-ahead, that is what I will go with, she said.
Rema Namakula, in an interview, acknowledged her mother’s ever-young spirit and praised her for always looking her best
She tried to keep herself young by surrounding herself with the younger generation, staying updated on the latest trends. She feels she can still do what everyone does. It starts from the inside, she said.
