Stanbic and MultiChoice unveil leadership training for mid-level professionals – Lifestyle Uganda

Date:

Stanbic Bank and MultiChoice Uganda have launched a new leadership initiative aimed at helping mid-level professionals move into executive roles.

The program, called Journey to the C-Suite (JTC), was unveiled on June 26 at the Skyz Hotel in Kampala. It is designed to prepare participants for top-tier positions like CEO, CFO, and COO.

The launch drew a mix of diplomats, executives, and leadership hopefuls.

“This program is timely and visionary,” said Mourad Amokrane, Algeria’s ambassador to Uganda. He said it focuses on a group often overlooked — mid-level professionals with untapped leadership potential.

Also in attendance were Joash Maangi, Kenya’s high commissioner to Uganda; Josephine Ossiya, CEO of the Capital Markets Authority; and Janet Navvuga Bugembe, the founder of the JTC initiative.

Bugembe, who also created the Journey to the Boardroom (JTB) program — which focuses on board governance — said JTC fills a different gap.

“If the boardroom is where vision is governed,” she told the audience, “the C-suite is where vision is born.”

She added, “JTC exists for every brilliant leader in middle management who is underestimated — especially by themselves.”

The three-month program includes mentorship, strategy sessions, case studies, and training in executive presence. Organizers say the goal is to shape leaders who act with purpose and build resilient institutions.

Its motto — “Elevate. Lead. Thrive.” — reflects that aim.

The launch also introduced the first cohort: a group of selected mid-career professionals identified as high-potential leaders.
