Stabua Natooro Shares Story of Becoming a Mother at 14 and Raising Six Children

Date:

Musician Stabua Natooro has opened up on why she tried to hide that she had children, citing her physical appearance.

In a previous interview, Stabua Natooro revealed that she became a mother at the tender age of 14 and, by 25, she was already blessed with six children. She, however, chose to lie and confuse the public about the number of children she had out of fear of being judged.

During a YouTube interview, Stabua revealed that at that time, she thought it would affect her bookings mainly because of how she looked. She admitted that, as a single mother from a village in Rakai, she was not attractive, noting that her many children would scare away her destiny helpers.

I thought it would affect my market. I was a village girl who looked terrible. How then would I start saying I had all these children? Even a person who would have given me a chance would get scared. I know I don’t look so good now, but it was worse before. Up to now, I don’t know how to do makeup, take care of myself, or even dress up. The only weapon I have is my music. That is what my fans love me for.

Stabua, now a proud mother of six children, says she has single-handedly cared for them since separating from their father. She has managed to take them to school to attain the education that she never had the chance to get. Her daughters, Shakira and Salma, have both graduated in the medical field, influencing her to launch Stana Medical Center.

I didn’t even get to P.7. Was hustling, and when they withdrew me from school, I requested God to enable me to take all my children to school. I was a bright girl at school, to the point that they used to push me into the following classes.

Loved school, but I never got the chance. I used to get to school very late, only attend 2-3 days a week, but still ended up leading the class. When not in school, I was home doing hard labor.
