Uganda Speaker of Parliament and Bukedea district woman MP Anita Among has pledged to support the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya’s daughter’s education.
Following his death yesterday at Lubaga Hospital, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya’s vigil was held at the NUP main offices in Makerere Kavule.
Subsequently, the body was presented at Parliament, where a special sitting was held to pay tribute to the late politician.
The late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya was praised as a hardworking person, and his legacy will forever live rent-free in every Ugandan’s heart.
During the sitting, parliamentarians were required to deduct Ugx 300K from their salaries, which will go towards supporting Ssegirinya’s family.
Rt. Hon. Anita Among pledged to support one of Ssegirinya’s kids Nagirinya’s studies, and upon culminating her primary level of education, she is to be transferred to the speaker’s school in Bukedea.
Based on the tentative burial arrangement, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya will be laid to rest at his ancestral burial grounds in Masaka on Sunday 12th January 2025.
