A heated exchange erupted between Ugandan media personality Sheilah Gashumba and UK-based DJ Skyla Tylaa after a deejaying gig in Rwanda.
The clash came to light after screenshots of Instagram Stories surfaced online, showing sharp remarks exchanged over who should have warmed up for the other at the event.
In the posts, DJ Skyla Tylaa appeared to criticise what she described as interference during her set, urging Sheilah to understand how to DJ and the art of being a warm-up.
Sheilah Gashumba, alias DJ Lil Stunner, was quick to respond and dismissed Skyla Tylaa’s claims, insisting she was far from a “top female DJ” and alleging that Skyla had initially been scheduled to play earlier in the day but later panicked and requested to be slotted between Sheilah’s set.
According to Sheilah, she had no issue accommodating the change and even extended her own performance to give Skyla Tylaa space to “prove” herself. She further claimed that the crowd reaction favoured her set, which allegedly angered Skyla and prompted her to post the criticism online.
In a sarcastic jab, Sheilah suggested Skyla should consider performing with an MC next time to help “carry” her set.
The public spat has since divided opinion online, with some fans backing Sheilah’s confidence and others defending Skyla Tylaa’s call for respect of DJ line-ups and professional boundaries.
