Security Guard Kills Two Colleagues in Mbuya Office Shooting, Shot Dead by Police

Three individuals lost their lives in a shooting on Wednesday morning at the Ultimate Security Company offices in Mbuya, Kampala.

According to police, the attacker—identified as Richard Mwaawa, a private security guard employed by the company—opened fire and fatally shot two of his colleagues: Noella Zella, the assistant human resource officer, and Salez Bwampata, the armoury officer, at approximately 9:00 a.m.

Police officers from Jinja Road Police Station responded promptly to the distress call and encountered Mwaawa, who was still posing a threat. He was shot and killed at the scene.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, said investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack. The weapon used was recovered and sent for forensic examination, while the bodies of the deceased were transported to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem.
