Musician Sasha Brighton, real name Nannozi Joweria, has opened up about her decision of shifting her focus from her career dream of TV hosting to music.
Sasha Brighton revealed that her dream was to be a TV host, mainly because of her beautiful looks. She noted that she always desired to look good, dress up, and appear on camera to attract everyone’s attention, not because of what she was presenting, but because of how good she looked.
When asked whether she had attained the required degree and qualifications to become a TV host, she made it clear that she was a S.5 dropout. She explained that she decided to stop going to school because she was often sent home for failing to pay school fees.
“I stopped in S.5, and I only studied for the first term. My mother was the only one paying my fees, but I gave up after they kept expelling me from school. My dad was alive; they related to my mum, but then she was like the head of the family. I got tired and dropped out,” Sasha Brighton noted.
Despite abandoning her education, Sasha Brighton went on to focus on her music career and emerged as one of the young band singers doing well in the industry.
She credited Geoffrey and Irene Namatovu for spotting her during auditions to join their band, which gave her a platform. She denied allegations that she was kicked out of the band, noting that she left willingly, citing internal reasons.

“Maybe if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be here. It was all God’s grace and their help. I auditioned and failed, but Irene picked me out because she thought I had potential. She had never kicked me out and was so disappointed after I left. She loved me so much. A lot was happening in there, and I decided to let go,” Sasha Brighton said.
