Roast And Rhyme to Celebrate 10 Years of Music, Culture, and Creative Impact

Date:

Uganda’s beloved lifestyle festival, Roast And Rhyme, is celebrating a major milestone in 2026, marking 10 years of music, culture, food, and unforgettable experiences.

Over the past decade, the festival has grown from a simple outdoor music gathering into one of the country’s most influential lifestyle events, attracting thousands of revelers and creating meaningful impact across the creative and entertainment industries.

Since its inception, Swangz Avenue’s Roast And Rhyme has evolved into more than just a festival. It has become a platform that supports Uganda’s creative economy, bringing together musicians, DJs, live bands, event producers, designers, photographers, videographers, stylists, and content creators. Over the years, more than 200 artists have performed on the Roast And Rhyme stage, making it one of the most consistent platforms for showcasing Ugandan musical talent.

The festival has also welcomed over 20,000 revelers across its different editions, building a loyal community of music lovers who come together to celebrate live music, great food, and the outdoor picnic experience that Roast And Rhyme has become known for.

Beyond the stage, Roast and Rhyme contributes significantly to Kampala’s experience and hospitality economy. Each edition creates employment and business opportunities for food vendors, grill masters, beverage partners, fashion vendors, and small business owners who showcase and sell their products at the festival. From nyama choma vendors to lifestyle brands and craft businesses, the event has supported hundreds of entrepreneurs over the years.

In addition, the festival generates work for event production crews, sound and lighting technicians, stage designers, decorators, security teams, logistics teams, photographers, videographers, and digital content creators, making it an important driver of activity within Uganda’s events and entertainment industry.

Roast And Rhyme has also become a key platform for brand engagement and innovation, allowing companies to interact directly with consumers through immersive experiences. Over the years, brands have used the festival to launch products, create memorable activations, and introduce innovative services such as cashless payments and digital ticketing, helping modernize the event experience for audiences.

To mark the 10-year milestone, the organizers have announced that 2026 will be a year-long celebration, highlighting the journey, impact, and community that has grown around the festival.
