Singer Rahma Pinky has opened up on how getting her first hit song influenced her to drop out of school.
Pinky, during her sit-down interview with Ruth Kalibbala, revealed that she enrolled at the university to pursue a Bachelor of Information Technology. She did it for two semesters, but unfortunately got distracted after she got her big breakthrough in the music industry.
She revealed that she released her very first song Superstar, which officially introduced her onto the scene. Her follow-up songs, including ‘Picha’, were all good, and she was swept by her newfound success and fame.
“In that period, my songs were going viral, and every song I released was a hit and cut the audience, then I decided to first pause education and go with the tide,” she said.
Rahma Pinky also blamed her loss of interest in education on the course that she was given. She was not studying a course she liked and, as a result, became demoralized, prompting her to quit. She revealed that her dream was to major in Literature or study law, and, with the results she got, she believed they could easily get her what she wanted.
“It was not what I wanted. I told myself I had the results to get the course I wanted because I had all my principal and subsidiary passes to do the course I loved, but they gave me what I didn’t like, and I refused it. My mind wasn’t widening because I was doing the same things I’d done before. Maybe if I went further, I would have gone deep with the course, but I didn’t give myself a chance,” she said.

Contrary to those who opt for law after facing injustices, Pinky explained that her dream of becoming a lawyer stems from her confidence and the belief that she could easily ace it in the courtroom. She hopes to pursue Law in the near future because she is not considering music forever.
“I feel I have the favor to talk and have people listen. Feel like I can raise a point in the courtroom. I haven’t faced any form of injustices, and I don’t think I can allow myself to be in such a situation because I argue a lot,” she said.
