Veteran musician Ragga Dee, born Daniel Kazibwe, has threatened to sue fellow musician Mikie Wine over song plagiarism.
Over a week back, Bobi Wine’s brother, Mikie Wine, dropped his rendition of Ragga Dee’s classic song, “Oyagala Cash,” naming it “Zuena.”
In his ‘Zuena’ rendition, Mikie Wine sings about his lover, whom he says only loves him for his money and what he has to offer.
After crossing paths with the song “Ragga Dee,” through his lawyers, the MDG law advocates, in a legal document dated July 16, 2025, revealed his plans to sue Mikie Wine, accusing him of copyright infringement.
In the document, Ragga Dee published and secured a copyright for his song “NKUGUDDEMU OYAGALA CASH” in 2004, and has exclusively performed it for twenty-one (21) years.
Mikie reproduced and performed the song before seeking permission, violating the proprietary rights under the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act (Cap 222) of the Laws of Uganda.

Mikie Wine is requested to compensate Ragga Dee with the sum of Uganda Shillings Three Hundred Million (UGX 300,000,000) only, within seven (7) days from the date of receiving this notice. Failure to do so will result in legal action for copyright infringement.
