President Museveni Speaks out on Murdered Married Couple in Entebbe

The President of the Republic of Uganda has spoken out on the gruesome murder which saw a man and his wife killed by an unknown assailants on July 6, 2025 in Entebbe.

 

The murdered couple are; David Mutaaga and his wife Deborah Naizuwa, and they had just returned to Uganda after 30 years on kyeyo stint in Zurich.

 

The President said that if there was proper coordination between people and security agencies then the assailants would have been arrested on the fateful night.

 

He made the remarks on July 13, 2025, while addressing   journalists in Wakiso district on the Parish Development Model scheme.

 

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni said his government is determined to maintain peace in the country adding that anyone who attempts to destabilize it risk grave actions.

 

“Can you imagine the killer had time, he came and entered the couple’s house in Lugonjo/Nakiwogo zone and first attacked the man who was seated in the sitting room, dragged him to the gate where he killed him. Thereafter, he climbed upstairs where he found the wife calling relatives to come to their rescue. The killer managed to overpower her and also killed her before fleeing the scene of murder,” President Museveni narrated.

 

He added that if there was coordination in the place, the killers would have been arrested on the fateful night.

 

“In Masaka there were panga wielding killers but we organized locals and advised them to use sub-county based policing composed of 18 cops with motorcycles and were ready all the time and would respond to calls quickly whenever there was a problem,” he said adding that whenever a local was attacked, he would call them straight away and in the event the thug ran away they would deploy sniffer dogs and trace the attacker on that very night.

 

He revealed that they were able to finish panga wielding killers in Masaka including their ringleader one Kidawalime because victims quickly called police which in turn put him out of action.

 

“Therefore, we need coordination to finish up thugs and killers in our respective communities,” President Museveni called for collective efforts to stamp out crimes in our community.’

 

In other news , President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni told journalists that government is going to partner with them in monitoring Parish Development project saying that in the next cabinet meeting, he will tell Hon. Galabuzi to consider appointing Journalists at zonal level to provide information regarding Parish Development Model projects.

 

He vowed to arrest whoever steals Parish Development Model funds and that if one is found guilty his or her assets will be confiscated and sold to recover stolen money.

 

Regarding granting Wakiso and Entebbe a city status in this financial year 2025/2026, the President said his government thoughT it wise to first empower locals economically then later he will think of making them cities.

 

 

“We need to first empower people with wealth creation before we rush to grant both Wakiso and Entebbe a city status. There is no need to tarmac all roads when people are extremely poor,” he said.

 

On the rampant issue of land grabbing in Wakiso and Entebbe areas, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni assigned Capt. Barbra Balungi toget in touch with his Lawyer, Dorah Kiconco to investigate the land matters and prosecute the culprits.
