Police Rescue Two Kidnapped Pakistanis in Luwero

The Luwero district police are investigating a kidnapping case that occurred on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in Mabanda village, Piida ward, Luwero Town Council.

 

According to police, a group of four men in a white Toyota Premio vehicle with registration number UAM 180R abducted two Pakistani nationals, Abaasi Ali and Rashid Ahmed, who work for Lucky Sajid, a Pakistani investor in Luwero.

 

According to Twiine Amaazima, the savannah police spokesperson, kidnappers demanded a ransom of 20 million shillings from the relatives. However, the police were notified and responded promptly.

 

The regional flying squad, in conjunction with territorial police in Matuga, pursued the kidnappers and rescued the victims. Two suspects were arrested, while others escaped.

 

He says a case of alleged kidnapping was registered, and statements were recorded from relevant witnesses. The scene was visited and documented by the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) as police continue to hunt for the other suspects.

 

The police are still conducting further inquiries to bring all perpetrators to justice.
