Police In Rwampara Arrests Son For Allegedly Killing His Own Father

Police in Rwampara District have arrested one person who has been identified as Barnabas in connection with the murder of Tumwesigye Damazo, his father and a resident of Mweya cell, Nyeihanga ward.

According to a Police statement issued today, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, residents found Damazo’s body in a roadside trench on February 22, 2025, and alerted Police which introduced its canine unit dog Hector to the scene of crime.

Hector tracked a human scent from the crime scene to Banabas’ home, approximately 1.5 kilometers away.

A search of the premises yielded a black T-shirt with blood stains, which Banabas’ wife had allegedly taken to a neighbor’s home. Investigations have revealed that Banabas and the deceased were not on good terms.

“The police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Damazo’s murder,” says police.
