According to a statement by Jonan Kiiza, UEDCL’s Head of Corporate and Stakeholder Affairs, the exercise is part of a nationwide effort to strengthen the electricity grid’s safety, reliability, and performance.
The outage will impact areas served by the Namanve North and Mutundwe substations, including residential, commercial, and industrial zones. Affected localities range from Kyaliwajjala and Buwaate in Kampala and Wakiso, to Seeta and Misindye in Mukono, and Nabbingo, Nsangi, and Kamengo in Mpigi, among others.
UEDCL advised the public to plan accordingly and observe safety protocols throughout the interruption, reminding customers to treat all power lines as live. The company expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their patience during this essential infrastructure upgrade.
