Nyege Nyege Festival is set to return to Uganda’s sacred Kalagala Falls from November 20 to 23, 2025, with an extraordinary lineup featuring over 300 artists across six stages. This celebration, themed “Ekigunda Ky’Omuliro – The Gathering of the Flame,” marks a decade of fearless boundary-pushing African creativity, showcasing a rich cultural program that spans music, fashion, film, and food.
What began as an underground gathering on the banks of the Nile has evolved into a global movement, serving as a sanctuary for alternative African music, radical creativity, and communal joy. Over the past ten years, Nyege Nyege has connected thousands of artists, dancers, and dreamers across continents, fostering a unique cultural ecosystem in Uganda and beyond. This tenth edition is not only a celebration of past achievements but also a bold declaration of future aspirations.
After years of roaming riverbanks, Nyege Nyege has found a new home at Kalagala Falls, a stunning and sacred location on the Nile River. The festival will take place at Adrift Overland Camp, which offers sweeping views, riverside wilderness, and robust festival infrastructure, including on-site bungee jumping. The community-held cultural grounds provide panoramic views of the falls, sacred trees, and ancestral gathering spaces, ensuring an immersive experience deeply rooted in the local environment.
Accessibility to this remarkable site is convenient, being just 20 minutes from Jinja town, 2.5 hours from Uganda’s capital Kampala, 3.5 hours from Entebbe International Airport, and 6 hours by road from Nairobi, Kenya. This partnership with local custodians emphasizes environmental stewardship and community empowerment, grounding Nyege Nyege in purpose for the coming decade.
“This year, we celebrate a decade of journeys, honoring our past and envisioning the future,” said the organizers. “By inaugurating a home for the next ten years, we celebrate what makes Nyege Nyege truly unique: the music, the people, the vibe, the nature, and the community that carries it all.”
Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be the official event management and production partner for the 10-year anniversary of Nyege Nyege—one of the most iconic and boundary-pushing festivals on the continent. This milestone celebration is going to be bigger, bolder, and more electric than ever, and Talent Africa Group is proud to bring it to life with world-class production, seamless operations, and unforgettable experiences.”
The festival will feature six immersive stages curated with cosmic intention, bridging ancestral rhythms, underground innovation, and future-facing sounds. Attendees can expect a festival where Uganda’s musical heritage meets global club culture, infused with diasporic influences from the Caribbean, Latin America, and beyond. A dedicated adventure and discovery package will be available through sautisafari.com, with the lineup announcement scheduled for August.
